Instruction

I take great pleasure in the variety of courses I offer glass enthusiasts. My students range from beginners who have never lifted a glass cutter or a brush to professionals seeking to hone their present skills and advance to new levels and challenges. I teach by invitation all over the country at trade shows, schools, retail stores and studios that invite me to teach their customers. I also schedule classes in my own private studio.

The following are examples of classes I offer. If there are other subjects you are interested in learning or presenting, please write and we can plan classes to suit your needs.

Chain Maille Jewelry

Chain Maille is a beautiful and surprisingly easy ancient art that weaves jump rings into intricate patterns. I have written three books on CD teaching chain maille.

You've Got Maille!!! CD containing detailed photographic and written instructions on making the beautiful Byzantine chain maille weave. Projects include bracelets, earrings, necklaces and watch bands.

It's In The Maille!!! CD containing detailed photographic and written instructions on making the lavish European 4-in-1 chain maille weave. Projects include a delicate necklace using a single version of the weave and an intricate bracelet using the double version of the weave.

First Glass Maille!!! CD containing detailed photographic and written instructions on making the Romanov chain maille weave, a Byzantine variation that features a bead captured between two Byzantine units. The projects include a full Romanov necklace and one that integrates a stained glass and bead wire wrapped cabochon into a Romanov necklace.

All CDs are extensively photographed, up close and in color, each step of the way so that you are assured of success.

Please contact me if you are interested in obtaining either or both of these instructional CDs.

Wire Wrapping Jewelry

At the current time, I have retired from teaching formal classes. However, the information I taught in the basic wire wrapping class can be found in my extensively photographed CD, "That's A Wrap!!!" You will learn how to wrap a beautiful pendant like the ones in the pages of this website, and I also show how to do easy bead wraps and earrings. Once you have finished the projects taught in "That's A Wrap!!!", you can go on to the more advanced CD, "That's A Wrap, Too!!!" This CD covers neck wires and other, more intricate projects. Every step in the wire wrapping process is photographed in detail in both CDs. Please email me or call me if you wish to obtain the CDs. Of course, I'm always available to help or answer any questions you might have.

Most of the jewelry currently shown in my gallery are dichroic glass cabochons wrapped in sterling silver or 14K gold-filled wire. This class teaches you how to make these beautiful pieces. The wrap that I teach is the basic wrap used not only for pendants, but also for bracelets, neck wires, earrings, etc. Each student leaves class wearing the original pendant he or she makes, together with the knowledge of how to make more.
